Summary of Job Duties:
The Post-Doctoral Fellow's job duties will contribute to a funded research project on measuring factors influencing soil trace gas emissions and environmental outcomes of different rice production practices. Activities include a mix of field and laboratory investigations on greenhouse gas (CO2, CH4 and N2O) emissions in paddy rice to resolve uncertainties related to the impacts of different climate-smart management strategies from soil and agronomic conditions. The postdoc will manage day-to-day collection tasks, coordinate involvement among project participants, and write papers and outreach materials based on the project findings. Field visits will be conducted in irrigated and non-irrigated agricultural fields in Arkansas and other states. The project will investigate the impacts of land cover and management practices on biophysical properties, carbon uptake, yield and grain quality metrics and greenhouse gas emissions, that involve novel tools, protocols, and instrumentation. The Post-Doctoral fellow will interface with scientists from a number of institutions and disciplines. The ultimate aim is to advance scientific understanding and improve research outcomes through measurements and the production of scientific and science outreach materials.

Ph.D. in disciplines such as biological, biosystems, agricultural engineering, agronomy, soil science, environmental science, molecular biology or a closely related field from an accredited institution of higher education conferred by the start of employment
Demonstrated experience (via research presentations, thesis, or publications) with rice agronomy and stress impacts on sustainability and intensification
Skills in plant phenotyping in an agronomic context Experience in research presentation and publication
Preferred

Good scientific communication skills as evidenced by recent publications and/or presentations at conferences
Willingness to work both independently and in a collaborative team environment Demonstrated experience with environmental data management
Background in rice agriculture and/or GHG measurement

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
