Strong knowledge of word processing and dictation equipment.
Experience Has experience in managing work projects and planning and implementation of clinical systems.
Good written and oral communication skills required.
Physical Normal hospital environment.
Exposure to biological hazards.
Close eye work.
Occasional exposure to unpleasant odors.
Hearing of normal and soft tones.
Lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling up to 20 lbs.
Frequent sitting, standing, and walking.
Operates computer terminal and printers, phone and fax machine, and dictation system.

JOB SUMMARY Maintain pathology records including accurately transcribing all surgical pathology, cytology, hematology, autopsy reports from pathologist dictation, enters charges, and types correspondence for pathologists, and appends external consults, stain testing and image studies reports to patient's records as required.
He/she will assist in the gathering of information required for quality assurance and performance improvement, instruct new employees, and assist with implementation of new systems.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
